Pastoral Care Ministry
Pastoral Care encompasses ministering to the sick and
elderly in home, hospital, and nursing facilities. It also provides
distribution of the Eucharist to the homebound and Anointing of the Sick. Ministries below also provide specialized pastoral care.

Canon law describes two locations as being sacred: the
church and the cemetery. Volunteers keep Sacred Heart,
our parish cemetery on Stafford Road, sacred.

Minister to grieving family and friends following the
funeral of their loved one. Volunteers are needed to set up, serve, clean up, and provide hospitality and comfort food for the luncheon.

Martha and Mary Ministries
Directly serves people who are dying and their loved ones, and provides end-of-life education in the community. This organization helps people explore many issues of death and dying in their families and in our culture. Volunteers provide meals, visit with patients, shop for home, pray, and conduct special events and fundraisers to support the needs of the family.

Provides guidance, education and support to ensure that church and community members maintain a state of health with a firm connection to God, self, community and environment. Volunteers are invited to join any of the following programs.
• Monthly Blood Pressure Screening Clinic
• Weekly Co-Dependent Support Group (CODA)
• Bereavement Support Group (Seasons of Hope) (6 week program)
• Safe and Ready in the Church, an emergency ready program
• Providing respite care for caregivers of the homebound
• Walk to Jerusalem/Bethlehem
• Parish/School Fall Flu shot clinic
• Chronic Illness Support Group
• Walk with Ease (An Arthritis Foundation 6 week program for better
• Bi-annual Red Cross Blood Drive

Prayer Shawl Ministry
"Threads of Comfort" - Skilled and unskilled crochet and knitting persons create tangible loving wraps of prayer to be presented to those needing comfort. Materials and teachers are available.
Meetings: First Saturdays, 10 am -12 noon in the Parish Hall
